Recently, I have been involved in writing and editing for Gardeners’ World Magazine, and freelance editing for the RHS magazine The Garden. Last November, the blog was nominated for the ‘Best Gardening Blog’ in the Garden Media Guild Awards. I am currently a guest blogger for Suttons Seeds and last year I wrote for the Grow-It gardening website. I’ve had ‘Grow your Own’ articles featured in magazines such as Gluten-Free Heaven and have recently been interviewed on Three Counties Radio and for Vegetarian Living Magazine. In 2017, the Permaculture Association published my article on Forest Gardening. I’m also writing a book exploring the ways we engage with the wild in the everyday landscape.
My writing, teaching and horticultural background enables me to create accurate, engaging content on a range of topics and in a variety of different styles. I have over twenty years’ experience of researching, editing and writing, including gaining an MA in English Literature with distinction. I have RHS Level 2 qualifications , several decades of gardening experience and I’m currently studying at Regent’s Park on the Advanced Diploma in Garden Design. I recently won the Gardener’s World Magazine Writing Competition at Capel Manor College. Comments about my winning entry included: ‘stand-out winner of the writing competition: it’s Nic Wilson. Lovely writer, lyrical and reflective but also showed the strongest appreciation of style – general journalistic tone and magazine voice.’
I would be happy to discuss guest posting, regular blogging, magazine articles and social media content if you would like me to write for your blog, magazine or website.
